Ethernet OAM Software- ITU Y.1731
NComm’s ITU Y1731-2015 software adds the additional features to NComm's IEEE 802.1Q/802.1ag software capabilities into their products. The Y.1731 feature is delivered as source code conforming to ANSI C. Operation under the Linux operating system as well as other operating systems is provided. The Y.1731-2015 software has been fully qualified in conformance testing, and NComm will assist in any additional conformance issues that might come up during full product homologation testing.
The architecture of the Ethernet OA&M software module is shown below. The module will implement the Ethernet OA&M requirements of ITU Y1731-2015 while allow your application to integrate the feature in to your system.

Message Handling |
The Y.1731 module will handling message transmission requirements after being enabled by the application. Receive message processing will be done without involving the application. For example, responding to a delay measurement measurement (DMM) with the delay measurement response (DMR) will be done by the module without application intervention. Results of performance monitoring tests (e.g. Loss and Delay measurement)s will be reported to the application upon completion of the measurement. |
